Job Description
  • Develop and maintain Project Income & COS recognition reporting including forecasts and risk registers where appropriate
  • Work with Project Managers to monitor spend against project budgets and forecasts
  • Production of the Management Accounts
  • Provide monthly financial and management information to support the decision-making process including Project P&Ls and KPIs
  • Preparation of monthly supporting schedules and reconciliations
  • Ensure Inventory databases are accurately maintained and monthly stocktakes are completed
  • Maintain Hire Fleet records – Ensure accurate valuations, provisions and depreciation policies are recorded
  • Work to ensure the yearend process runs smoothly, assisting with communication across the businesses and with external Auditors
  • Support the Head of Finance in the development and maintenance of robust processes and procedures, ensuring accurate timely accounting records are maintained and continuous improvement remains a key focus for the department and business
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance in developing more detailed analysis of the cost base to better understand where efficiencies can be made whilst educating stakeholders on good practice in relation to cost control
  • Work as part of the annual financial audit team and provide valuable contribution to its completion

Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week. Relevant IT equipment will be provided. Product training will be given as required in relation to this role.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA). Experience of IT packages such as Sage200, Syrinx, Microsoft Dynamics Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential, including advanced Excel skills. Excellent personal time management skills. Key involvement in system implementations in the past with the ability to educate and develop work processes across departments. Strong understanding of Project Recognition and Contract Accounting. Practical knowledge of financial audits and associated legislation. Planning, organizing and prioritizing workload. Experience of working within a project environment. Highly numerate and analytical with the ability to interpret and present data clearly. Methodical and diligent approach to working. Excellent attention to detail. Confident communicator both written and verbal. Team Player who is respectful and honest. Proactive. Ability to cope with multiple tasks and priorities. Reliable and trustworthy. Resourceful and flexible.
