Job Description

We are looking for a team player who wishes to assist in the development of innovative, cost effective and buildable solutions in an environment that is collaborative, stimulating and challenging. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team.

The team provides services ranging from feasibility and landscape planning studies, design and landscape and visual impact assessments and detailed design through to construction supervision and landscape management. Our Basingstoke team is involved in a number of high profile projects with a variety of clients from the private and public sector. Our leading clients include Highways England, Homes England, the Environment Agency as well as leading contractors and developers.

We have an impressive portfolio of major national and international infrastructure projects. A selection of our current and recent projects includes:

  • A303 Amesbury to Berwick Down Development Consent Order with landscape planning and design work at Stonehenge for Highways England;
  • Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments for solar farms and renewable energy schemes for developers;
  • Park and Ride, bus lane and cycle way design and Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments in Oxford for local planning authorities;
  • Landscape design of new residential development in Sussex for West Sussex District Council;
  • Landscape design and planning for river restoration schemes in Reading and Oxford for the Environment Agency;
  • Townscape and Visual Impact Assessments for tall buildings in London and the south-east for developers;
  • Streetscape and urban design in Guildford for Guildford Borough Council;
  • Long-term management of habitats at sites in the south-east on behalf of the Environment Agency; and
  • Design codes and character assessments to support neighbourhood plans within Hampshire and Hertfordshire for Locality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The appropriate level of technical expertise is required in order that the job / project accountabilities listed below can be carried out to the necessary standard:
  • Produce or oversee the production of drawings, written reports and other technical documentation using appropriate software, with the necessary level of detail as required at various stages of development: strategies, conceptual design, detailed design and production information.
  • Contribute to securing and delivering new work.
  • Coaching and development of Graduate and Consultant level team members.
  • Working as a Project Manager, with project management responsibilities, including contractual, financial and programme management.
  • Establishing strong working relationships with other members of the landscape team and internal teams across the business

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in preparing landscape design schemes, including concept and detailed design work. Chartered (CMLI). Some understanding of project management, including financial control and reporting and programme management and ability to manage own budgets. Some understanding of producing Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments. Experience of some or all the following would also be advantageous: ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civils 3D, Revit, LSS, ProjectWise and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. landscape projects.Landscape Institute accredited Bachelor’s degree, Diploma and/or Master’s degree.
