We are looking for a qualified senior accountant to join a pool of finance professionals in our Finance and Assurance Services Directorate (FAS) to help deliver this strategy. You will develop a deep understanding of our business, working with colleagues and stakeholders across different disciplines to drive the agenda. As a pool accountant you may be required to work on rotation within any of the following business areas to support, develop and provide evidence or advice on financial process, models and procedures, acting as business partner:
Financial Reporting including Annual Report and Accounts
Financial Planning
Financial Modelling
Investment Appraisal
Commercial Finance
Responsibilities

Business partnering
Accountancy support as appropriate to the business area
Development of financial models as appropriate to the business area.
Advising on financial policies, processes and procedures.
Completing assignments in compliance with the terms and conditions agreed at the outset.
Ensuring individuals and team colleagues adhere to Data Protection, Security, Health & Safety policies and understand relevant employment law.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of accounting skills including management and financial accounts preparation, an understanding of accounting standards, preferably within the context of the Government Financial Reporting Manual (FReM), and experience of partnering with business stakeholders would be advantageous. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills are essential including the ability to communicate effectively with all audiences, promoting collaborative working across the Agency. Attention to detail and accuracy is key supported by mature Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills. You will be a CCAB Member and be able to see the big picture, understand high level plans and have the foresight to identify the long term implications this can have on a business area. You will be able to develop financial models, provide financial advice and work autonomously with the ability to deliver against tight deadlines.
