Job Description

About the role

The MI & Controls Accountant will be responsible for producing and coordinating the submissions of various Management Information packs by the ServCo Finance team. This will involve supporting the month end, forecasting and budgeting processes from initiation to submission to Group, and plan and track month-end, half and full year deliverables.
They will also be involved in the developing and maintenance of the reporting tools used in the ServCo Finance team.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • To support the MI & Planning Manager in producing, coordinating and issuing an accurate ServCo entity MI pack on a monthly basis inline with agreed timetables.
  • To prepare consolidated month end MI submissions on a monthly basis, ensuring numbers are accurate and reconcile to the ledger.
  • To prepare the P&L on a monthly basis and produce meaningful Service Line Reporting with commentary provided by the wider team.
  • To ensure Expenses and Income are allocated correctly in the ledger to enable meaningful MI to be produced.
  • To liase with the wider ServCo team to agree deadlines for commentary and ensure meaningful analysis is produced.
  • To ensure the consolidated ServCo postion is correct in the ledger on a monthly basis, reconcile numbers to ensure splits between Expenses & Income, BAU & Projects are understood.
  • Support the MI and Planning Manager to produce meaningful MI for the various Governance forums and stakeholders including Group, CMB and the ServCo Finance Director.
  • Assist the MI & Planning Manager, providing input into the production of the OFR reports on a quarterly basis.
  • Contribute to the delivery of high quality and accurate submissions to Group of Month End, forecast and AOP.
  • To assist with continuously improving the MI reporting to meet the evolving management requirements.
  • Support the Finance Business Partners with reporting updates and TM1 and ledger updates when required.
  • To produce ad-hoc P&L analysis as required.
  • To provide cover for preparing monthly OSP invoices for projects and BAU, including system uploads, approvals and invoice sign off templates.
  • To produce adhoc journals and ensure postings to the ledger are correct.
  • To assist with TM1 maintenance, including set up and maintenance of reports, and to provide cover for the MI and Planning manager with these duties when required.
  • To fully embrace, support, test and provide valuable input to any changes to IT systems (primarily TM1 & Oracle) to ensure improved process efficiencies.
  • To produce and support the process of maintaining appropriate process notes and supporting documentation for Audit purposes.
  • Support the development of enhanced ServCo reporting including focus on margin drivers and roll out of new reporting software as required.
  • To ensure that best practice control processes are followed.
  • To ensure the maintenance of procedural documentation.

 

What we’re looking for:

You’re likely to be a part or newly qualified accountant, who must be able to demonstrate:

  • A strong finance background, with up to date accounting knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
  • A good degree of computer literacy, covering MS Office (particularly Excel), General Ledgers, plus some familiarity with TM1, Oracle GL and OBIEE.
  • Flexible and varied approach to workload required
  • An understanding of the ServCo business model, its drivers and the environment in which it operates would be an advantage
  • Focus on controls and systems would be an advantage.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
