Job Description
  • You will be Coaching, Advising and supporting other team members across all sites within the Cambridgeshire areas to develop and progress the team
  • Providing people management and leadership skills and giving constructive feedback on people’s actions and behaviours
  • Develop and deliver creative, proactive and practical solutions to peoples challenges and to provide support and solutions to these challenges and personal development
  • Provide training in people skills to other members of the team
  • Lead assigned projects and deliver these within the agreed timescales these can include restructures and managing changes
  • Providing support to the People Manager and communicating with the rest of the Managers within the people group, Employees and other representatives within the company
  • Suggesting, organising and implementing changes to working practices in order to improve customer service and team efficiency
  • Ensure the People Manager is kept advised of the teams overall performance and workload
  • Escalate any issues that arise to the People Manager and support the team with these issues
  • Interpret, advice and coach the service Managers to ensure they interpret the terms and conditions of service, employment law and HR policy & procedures
  • Work alongside the Managers to provide advice in consideration to Sickness, Grievances and Absence within the team
  • Being aware of any new and emerging employment legislation issues and responding to these
  • Leading policy and procedures reviews assigned
  • Ensuring that all data is recorded accurately & correctly
  • Adhering to and maintaining all healthy and safety policies
  • May be required from time to time to undertake other duties within the business

Skills and Experience Required:

  • MUST be CIPD level 7 qualified or equivalent professional qualification
  • Coaching qualification and full CIPD membership are desirable
  • Previous knowledge of HR practice and updating HR policies and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the employment law and legislation
  • Previous experience of working with a HR/Payroll database would be a benefit
  • MUST have full UK driving license
  • Previous experience of working on projects within a team such as restructures or managing change
  • Strong commitment to professional development
  • Experience of developing, implementing and evaluating initiatives
  • Strong experience of engaging with and advising employees at all levels and coaching them through learning and development issues
  • Confident at completing Grievance cases, disciplinaries and sickness management
  • Ability to build rapport and strong relationships
