Job Description

Reporting to the Group People Manager based in Coventry, this is an exciting time for the People (HR) Advisor to play a key role in the move from a HR to a People Team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day, generalist operations at the Coventry site, including:

  • Demonstrate role model and value-led behaviours which aspire people
  • Provide professional and knowledgeable employment advice and support on all people related activities to the business
  • Attend people matter meetings as the Company Representative and ensure that fairness for all is demonstrated
  • Handle a number of complex cases simultaneous
  • Advise managers on potential outcomes and the risks of considering current legislation and custom and practice
  • Ensure that the management of our absence management and capability policies are and process followed consistently throughout the business
  • Record and provide commentary on the monthly people scorecard relating to attrition, absence, tenure and engagement, identifying and reporting on trends and taking appropriate actions as required
  • Engage with the People Managers, Talent Acquisition Manager, Engagement and Culture Manager and Learning and Development Manager to ensure that there is a team communication and alignment of the actions required to deliver the People Plan and wider Business Strategy
  • Ensure our People systems and records are maintained and kept in accordance with GDPR requirements
  • Support the PDR annual process
  • Provide review and update of People Policies in line with legislative timetable and caselaw
  • Lead or participate with business focus groups and change projects to facilitate a continuous improvement mentality
  • Support delivery of workshops internally to build people management capability

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ideal candidates for this role will hold a minimum of CIPD Level 5 with a proven background in a similar generalist role, ideally within a complex organisation. You will have exceptional People skills with the ability to influence and drive change in a challenging and fast-moving environment. You will demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm for progressing with your chosen career. Core hours are 9-5pm with some flexibility required. Some travel and overnight stays are also required.
