Accountant / Senior Accountant / Client Manager with a positive "never stop learning" outlook required to assist with continuing growth of a client focussed Accountancy Practise offering a range of Accountancy, specialist tax and business growth services to SME’s across Staffordshire and West Midlands.

The role is based in the firms office in Cannock, Staffordshire, West Midlands.

Job Title: Accountant / Senior Accountant / Client Manager

Package: Basic salary of £28000-£40000 dependent on experience, plus a range of benefits.

Full time role. However there may be an opportunity for some flexibility in hours

Start date: asap.

Area: Cannock, Staffordshire. Ideal location could be Cannock, Wolverhampton Walsall, Lichfield, Hednesford, Burntwood, Brownhills, Rugeley Stafford etc.

Job description:

Accountant required for a leading accountancy practise, based in Cannock. The role is primarily office based but will involve visits to clients. You will work on a variety of assignments with a portfolio of small and medium sized businesses (Limited Companies, sole traders, partnerships) across a number of industry sectors. You will work with business owners to assist with all areas of financial and tax compliance, review monthly financial position and help them to achieve their business goals.

Responsibilities will include:

- Managing your own portfolio of clients

- Year-end compliance work: Preparation of Final Accounts and tax computations from client records

- Preparation of Management accounts.

- Preparation of Corporation Tax returns and Personal Tax returns.

- Preparation of Payroll, VAT and other returns, calculations and submissions

- Liaising with HMRC

- Attendance at client meetings

- Advising clients on a range of financial and other matters with the support of internal and external specialists

- Project work in support of Senior Accountants/Company Directors.

- Deadline Management and compliance.

- Supervision of junior staff

- Business growth advice and generally adding value to client’s businesses

Skills / Experience;

You will have at least 10 years, recent previous experience of working as an Accountant in a professional accountancy practise.

You will be AAT / ACCA / ACA Qualified or be Qualified by Experience

- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a professional accountancy office.

- Experience of dealing with a diverse range of businesses within a practise setting.

- Experience of using various types of accountancy software ideally including Sage 50, Xero, Quickbooks, VT

- Regular user of Microsoft Office products.

- Professional client facing manner and the ability to maintain and build existing and new client relationships.

- Excellent inter personal skills

- Strong presentation and organisation skills

- First class communication skills and be capable of communication at all levels

- The ability to work under your own initiative or "get stuck in" as part of a team to achieve shared goals.

- Driven, capable of working independently and autonomously.

- A positive, "never stop learning" attitude

- Flexibility in working hours to meet deadlines

- A client service, but commercial approach.

- A Driving license and use of transport for travel when required.

- A base close to Cannock, with the flexibility to work around the Staffordshire and general West Midlands area.
