Job Description

As an experienced phlebotomist you will be familiar with duties such as:

• To assist in the care of practice patients to include treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education.
• To provide health promotion and lifestyle advice to patients and to be familiar with services provided by relevant local and community organisations.
• To assist with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being.
• To undertake specific clinical activities
• Venipuncture
• Spirometry
• ECG
• BP monitoring
• New patient health checks
• Urinalysis
• Height/Weight monitoring
• Temperature and pulse recording
• Chaperoning duties
• Prepare and assist in clinical sessions as directed by clinicians (eg minor surgery/coil clinics)
• Stock control-including ordering, restocking and stock rotation
• Home visits for the practice as required for bloods, urine or chaperoning duties.
• Dressing changes and removal of sutures.
• INR
• Ear washouts
• B12 injections
• Flu injections
