Reporting to our Financial Controller, the Accounts Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support and undertaking clerical tasks such as typing, filing, making phone calls, handling mail and basic book keeping. You will work directly with the Director of Finance and Operations to help to maintain the office and deal with our customers and external agencies.
Specifically, you will:
Post records to both the sales and purchase ledger
Manage credit control
Calculate and check to make sure payments, amounts and records are correct
Manage the processing of invoices received from suppliers
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for review by the financial accountant
Manage and reconcile the credit cards each month on a timely basis
Sort incoming and outgoing daily post and answer any queries
Carry out statement reconciliations
Additionally, to be considered for this position, you will ideally have experience of working with accounting software packages such as Sage.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A minimum of 2 years’ experience of accounting in a similar role. An ability to manage time and activities. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. To be a strong communicator with an ability to influence others. An ability to work and communicate at an operational level in the business. To be proactive and self-motivated. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office, including outlook and excel.
