Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the expansion of a new appliance ordering service for Stoma patients receiving appliances within the Barnsley Clinical Commissioning Group locality, in partnership with BHNFT Stoma service.

This will be a busy role identifying and supporting Stoma patients and patients receiving appliances to order their required appliances via G.P clinical systems, to promote reduction in appliance waste and facilitate engagement with Stoma and Appliance Nurses for on-going support.

The Stoma Appliance prescription service commenced in Feb 2020 and currently supports Stoma patients within three Barnsley G.P practices. The post holders will enable expansion of the service across all Barnsley practices and full embedment of the service into a well-established stoma appliance service.

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the prescription order line and Stoma appliance service.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The successful post holders must have a NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Business Administration, minimum of 2 years Healthcare administration experience in a busy office environment, excellent communication skills, organization skills and experience of handling confidential information. The ideal candidates will be self-motivated individuals who are able to work independently, have experience of managing their own workload efficiently and be able to adapt quickly in an ever-changing environment in order to meet deadlines. Candidates must have excellent people skills with an ability to build strong working relationships within their team and with a wider group of stakeholders.
