Job Description

An exciting role supporting the site team to ensure everyday tasks are managed effectively through compliances and procedures put in place. This position will be based on site.

The purpose of this role is to work closely alongside the office based construction department and assist the site management team with IQC/HSE reports and closing down tasks. You will also work closely with the Buying Department in respect of the ordering of all site materials to meet with the requirements of the build programme and within suppliers lead times.

In addition, ensuring all deliveries are checked, and stored in accordance with Persimmon requirements. Provide systems, and take responsibility to reduce the amount of lost and damaged materials. Administration is carried out efficiently, working closely with the head office customer care team ensuring that queries and defects are dealt with appropriately by the site management and being responsible for holding confidential information with a full understanding of data protection.

Key Tasks

  • Carry out the ordering and management of all site materials
  • Report to the site manager and work to ensure a constant supply of materials to meet the build programme
  • Receive and manage all deliveries and distribution of materials to trades
  • Manage all aspects of the materials paperwork including liaising with buying & accounts departments and ensuring accurate records are kept
  • Work closely with site management and fork lift provision to ensure a smooth transition from delivery to loading out in plots
  • Ensure materials are stored and protected in accordance with Group policy requirements

Other General tasks

  • Manage systems effectively.
  • Liaise with all site staff.
  • Communicate clearly.
  • Deliver effective material management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ideally have worked in the construction industry and have an understanding of house building, with a knowledge of general construction materials. A banksman certificate would be an advantage. Strong organizational skills is essential in this role, especially when taking ownership of the flow of materials processing. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel etc., although Training will be given. To be able to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a site based team. Understand and exhibit a good standard of H & S knowledge, with regards to material handling and manual handling. Good communications skills with internal and external customers.
