The Transport Manager will cover two distribution centre's across Yorkshire. This is a senior leadership role with key responsibilities likely to include:
Lead and develop the operational transport teams by translating a vision and strategy into reality
Working in collaboration with agency and logistics providers to ensure great service levels
Produce and deliver stretching transport operational budgets that drive continued improvement in operating cost per case
Support the development and implementation of transport change programmes
Champion world class legal compliance and operational standards
Benchmark and implement best in class policy and procedures
Lead the service culture across the distribution centres that enables colleagues to do the right thing for our customers
Establish sustainable continuous improvement activity that delivers competitive advantage
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in operating at a senior leadership level in either a retail, 3PL or other relevant FMCG environment A track record in managing large fleet operations against service & financial targets Able to demonstrate experience in developing high performing operational teams Extensive transport industry knowledge Strong numerical and analytical skills International CPC is required Strong decision making skills Flexibility, adaptability and an ability to plan and organise At least 5 years experience within a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background (ideally as a multi site transport manager)
