The Transport & Logistics Manager will be responsible for the following:
Plan, manage and evaluate UK and International logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics/warehouse providers, transportation companies and customers
Management of Internal warehousing and liaison with 3rd party warehouse covering raw materials, pallet management, packaging and finished goods
Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organisation to improve operational and financial performance
Manage Deep Sea Freight logistics, utilising knowledge of shipping lines / sea containers / brokers and all accompanying documentation.
Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements
Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs through a series of KPI's and SLA's
Hands on day to day cost management - route planning, load optimisation, and selection of cost-effective solutions.
Transport and Logistics billing and line by line invoice verification
Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers
Recommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequency
Select carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria

Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development IT Skills required include detailed use of ERP systems, inventory management, high level of Excel skills (spreadsheet creation and interrogation - pivot tables) Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills Customer focused Proven analytical, problem solving and organisational skills Strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities Project management skills Commercial and financial acumen with a full understanding of the impact of failure in terms of business cost, production schedules and customer order fulfilment
