Job Description

The Tranport Planner will be based in York and will:

• Be working 41.25 hours per week, alternating Tues-Sat and Mon-Fri working weeks, the position offers a salary of up to £28,500 depending on experience
• You will be responsible for planning and organising resources (vehicles and drivers) to meet customer requirements and ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness, along with providing admin support to the Transport Manager.
• Working closely with Drivers as well as wider departments, you will need to be an effective communicator and build positive relationships.
• This is a challenging and demanding role, the ability to remain flexible and adaptable to changing demands is essential.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Operator Licence Awareness Training (OLAT) and Transport Manager CPC qualification (desirable) Good understanding of transport industry compliance Previous experience with multi-drop LGV planning Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including SAP, Excel skills, use of fleet tracking systems Strong interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills Excellent time management, results orientated and organised
