Senior Payroll Assistant - Legal Sector - Birmingham City Centre
As an experienced Senior Payroll Assistant you will be responsible for processing the day to day
administration of payroll and benefits for a leading international commercial law firm, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all areas of the operation. This role will include the administration of the monthly payroll processes via a SAP payroll system and include administration of company benefits.
Duties will include:
- Manage the Service Delivery of the Payroll team ensuring that all work activities are achieved to the required standards and objectives.
- Reporting to third parties i.e. HMRC, Pensions and Benefit providers
- accurate and timely input of Payroll data, this includes processing joiners, leavers, contractual changes and benefits changes, via checking of team input
- Manage queries from customers (internal and external) relating to Payroll, responding with professionalism
To be successful you must have :
- a strong technical understanding of current statutory legislation that directly relates to the Payroll function, including Tax, NI, and other statutory payments.
- Experience of using SAP Payroll or Success Factors
- Ability to manually calculate Payroll statutory deductions, (including. Tax, NI, SL, maternity and adoption)
- Sound knowledge of Excel to allow for the manipulation payroll data using Excel formulas
As this is initially a fixed term contract you must also be available at short notice and be willing to start ASAP.
