Job Description
We have an opportunity for full time Accounts and Payroll Assistant with an established Accountants firm in Bilston. As an Accounts and Payroll Assistant, you must have previous proven experience in an Accountants practice.
As an Accounts and Payroll Assistant you will be responsible for providing accounting/payroll services ensuring their accuracy, completeness and compliance.
Duties will include :
- Liaising with clients in regards to their payroll and accounting needs on a daily basis
- Bank Reconciliations
- Bookkeeping on Sage
- Sales Ledger/ Purchase ledger
- VAT preparations
- Accounts preparation till Trial balance
- Balance sheet reconcilaitions
- Submission on company and individual tax returns
- Payroll processing for multiple companies
- RTI submissions
- Collate information and process annual, quarterly, monthly, 2 weekly and weekly payroll
- Submit information to HMRC
- Upload auto enrolment information to pension providers
- To resolve queries raised by clients
- To liaise with HMRC and resolve queries
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters and forms
- Assist in the preparation of monthly accounts
- Develop and maintain a filing system
- Update and maintain office policies and procedures
- Maintain client lists
- Act as the point of contact for internal and external clients
- Liaise with senior administrative assistants to handle requests and queries from managers
- Help with other ad hoc tasks on a daily basis
Your duties will include providing support to the managers and employees, assisting in daily office needs and managing the company's general administrative activities, whilst meeting and greeting clients.
Requirements
- AAT part or fully qualified, or equivalent
- Previous experience in an Accountancy practice will be an advantage
- Have a strong background in Accounts/Payroll
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Be well organised
- Have good time management skills
- Be focused and very well organised
- Have strong Excel skills
- Be self-motivated and achievement orientated
- Have the ability to work under pressure alone or a team
