Job Description
The Finance Operations Manager will be responsible for:
- Daily valuations
- Weekly cash flow forecast for all schemes to support investment decision making
- Monthly reconciliation of cash accounts and miscellaneous assets and liabilities
- Collation of month end file of reconciliations covering total balance sheet of all schemes
- Monthly Financial Reporting templates to provide P&L and Balance Sheet information to the scheme administrators
- Quarterly VAT returns ensuring the schemes' VAT recovery is maximised
- Annual budget process and monthly reporting of operating expenses vs. budget
- Private Equity calls and distributions
- Property investment transactions
- Internal and external cash transfers
- Management of two direct reports
- Process automation/improvement
- Strategic decision making and cost cutting - business partnering duties
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
ACA qualification (ideally achieved at Big 4 accountancy practice) Sufficient understanding of the drivers of investment performance to be able to analytically review movement in the balance sheet and to improve accuracy of cash flow forecasting. A general awareness of global equity markets, drivers of fixed income pricing (e.g. interest rate curves, inflation, credit spreads) and a high level understanding of valuation of equity derivatives Technical knowledge of VAT legislation Financial Services background, ideally in investment management - 3 years PQE Team management experience Exposure to asset management/pensions fund
