Requirements for a Healthcare Assistant

As a Healthcare Assistantyou will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our service users. You will build good relationships with both service users and their families, supporting service users in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible. Both personal care and participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative are vital; experience however is not essential, providing you have a willingness to learn and the compassion and patience needed to support.

The ideal Healthcare Assistant

• Excellent communication and administrative skills, computer literacy with a strong focus on attention to detail and accuracy
• Great team player, flexibility to respond to the changing needs of those who we support
• Empathy, patience, optimism and compassion are essential for this role
• Effective organisational skills
• Demonstrable values and a commitment to leading and supporting colleagues and service users
• Knowledge of health and safety matters in relation to services and risk management
• Experience of building positive working relationships service users, their families, staff and other health and social care professionals
• Willing to work a rota pattern covering evenings, mornings, nights and weekends, over a 7-day period.
