DUTIES:

  • The purpose of the Technical Project Accounting Manager is to provide financial support and expertise for multiple multi-million-pound projects, driving a clear understanding of the operational and financial performance (KPIs, trends, revenue, costs and EBITDAR), ensuring that financial control policies are followed where relevant, that a disciplined and consistent approach is taken to the management of costs and within working capital and that all business development and proposals are accompanied by a rigorous and commercially astute financial appraisal. The Technical Project Accounting Manager is also is responsible for overseeing all financial planning and monitoring.
  • Alongside the senior leadership team, carry out and report on a monthly review of your projects financial trends, results, operating KPIs and commentary as part of performance improvement and challenge to support the delivery of operating and financial budgets, including cost control, review of labour against the established through labour variance model, and monthly reporting to regional teams – such monthly review to be used for regional and corporate reporting and analysis.
  • Facilitate project reviews of operating performance and KPI trends, so support understanding of drivers of performance
  • Partner a range of finance and non-finance stakeholders to analyse and support key revenue streams and cost base
  • Financial modelling of important scenarios, budgets, and forecasts
  • Providing commercial insight into business areas to help shape future decision making
  • Taking a lead on the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Oversight and delivery of key month-end financial reports

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
ACA qualified with a background in Practice Team management experience Technically proficient accountant Extensive internal audit experience in a large/complex commercial environment. Experience of building effective relationships with senior management. Ability to communicate effectively in either a verbal and written format creating visual reports or presentations. Ability to plan, organise and prioritise Ability to understand and analyse problems quickly and devise solutions Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with people at all levels of the organisation. Ability to influence and build effective working relationships and interact with senior management. High attention to detail and inquisitive mindset.
