Job Description

This role as Commercial Finance Director Designate is pivotal to the future development of the business and will be very diverse, encompassing a variety of responsibilities including:

- Providing a more formal structure to finance and other key departments.
- Overseeing the finance function and the production of management information and KPIs on a timely basis.
- Overhauling all systems, processes and controls to achieve greater efficiency, cost control and operational effectiveness.
- Overseeing and working closely with the heads of function across finance, production, warehousing and sales.
- Interacting with manufacturing partners, customers and suppliers.
- Liaising with associated third parties including accountants, lawyers and HR specialists.
- Handling all staff and HR matters, facilities management and company secretarial aspects.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- An experienced, commercially focussed accountant (not necessarily qualified), with a strong operational skillset, having been heavily involved in the commercial and operational matters of different businesses during your career. - Have previously been in overall control of the day to day running of a manufacturing or import / export business, covering all matters including finance, operations, HR, production, facilities, etc. - Experience operating in a senior operations capacity within a £10m+ turnover group which has experienced significant growth and the associated challenges. - You will be detail conscious, focussed on systems and processes and the ongoing delivery of timely key management information to enable informed decision making. - Possess a natural coaching team style and be comfortable deputising for the Managing Director as necessary.
