This role will involve working with a multidisciplinary team of accountants, investigators and lawyers on a criminal investigation. The individual will be required to assist with financial analysis using a range of data sources, reference the analysis appropriately to supporting evidence and conduct quality assurance. The financial analysis may be served as evidence at Crown Court and therefore the accuracy of the analysis will be of key importance.
Assisting the case team's principal accountants with financial analysis, which will include:
Comparing data to documentary evidence (e.g. invoices)to identify discrepancies for investigation
Reviewing other evidence (e.g. emails and text messages) to investigate and explain discrepancies
Assisting in preparing draft reports and any supporting appendices (e.g. excel schedules of analysis and the evidence relied upon) to summarise the analysis/investigation conducted and support the drafting of financial witness statements.
Quality assurance of the above mentioned financial analysis and reports.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong attention to detail. Significant experience of providing quality assurance. Significant experience of delivering accurate financial analysis. Significant experience of examining material such as documentary evidence, and financial records.
