Job Description

Our Client is an exciting SME who is currently going through a rapid period of growth. To support this growth they are currently looking for a Part-time Accounts Assistant to help manage the increasing demand on the finance function.

The role is part-time, initially for somewhere between 12 -18 hours per week, but with the potential to increase over the next 2-3 years. There is some flexibility around hours of work, but we would expect the time to be split over 2 to 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing of supplier invoices into Netsuite and Amici, including obtaining or confirming appropriate approvals and coding to the appropriate GL code, department and project codes.
• Review of employee expenses submissions in Expensify and Netsuite, confirming coding and VAT transactions.
• Processing of bank transactions from bank statements into Netsuite
• Prepare suggested payments list and enter bank payments into on-line payment system for approval.
• Maintain the fixed asset register
• Preparation of routine month end journals for payroll related costs, depreciation, accruals and prepayments etc.
• Preparation of monthly reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts - eg bank accounts, AP, payroll control etc.
• Support the analysis of operating expenses for monthly management reporting and forecast updates.
• Support the preparation of quarterly VAT returns
• Support the preparation of year end schedules and completion of the statutory audit

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Assistant Accountant experience Experience using mid-level SME financial systems Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to track, prioritise and carry out multiple tasks in parallel Organisational and planning skills are essential Excellent communication skills A can-do attitude Attention to detail
