You will be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting for a group subsidiary company, from ensuring day-to-day transactions are entered into the accounting system correctly, through to meeting all internal and external reporting requirements in full, on time and with high accuracy.
You shall also work closely with the Finance Manager to develop your knowledge and understanding of all business and Finance activities/systems in order to further support other members of the Finance and Credit Control teams, with their daily work tasks.
Transactional Tasks
You shall be willing to take the lead, as well as leading others, on entering purchase invoices, bank postings and journal entries to give you sufficient comfort that the financial statements are a true representation on business performance.
Additional support at a transaction level will become available in due course, but you must be willing to step in to complete such tasks as and when required.
· Posting purchase invoices.
· Daily bank postings/reconciliation.
· Journal entries.
· Supplier payments.
Cash Management
You will take responsibility for managing the cash forecast and ensuring the business remains within the cash forecast on a week-by-week basis.
· Weekly production of the cash forecast.
· Transacting and managing the level of supplier payments.
· Liaising with the Credit Control team to ensure cash collections are on track.
· Developing the input required from the accounting system and wider business to make improvements to the accuracy and timing of forecasts.
Forecasting and Budgeting
· Liaise with the wider business to produce a weekly sales forecast.
· Full P&L forecasts through the year.
· Take the lead on the annual budgeting process for your entity.
Monthly Reporting
You will be comfortable working to short month end deadlines, as well as regular external reporting requirements.
· Submitting accurate monthly accounts to Group Finance that have been fully reviewed.
· Providing detailed commentary to Regional General Managers to assist their understanding of the monthly financial performance.
· Compiling full balance sheet reconciliations as support for all items held on the balance sheet.
· Meet external reporting requirements for the business, including VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales, ONS surveys.
Other
· Work closely with group auditors to play a key role in seeing the smooth completion of annual financial audits.
· Adhoc support to Finance Manager and Group Finance team as and when required.
· Adhoc support to Regional GM and wider business as and when required.
