Job Description
This role offers the successful candidate long-term progression opportunities in the areas of business administration or quantity surveying and is perfect for any professional candidate who is seeking to work in the professional/office based side of the construction industry.
As an Apprentice Business Administrator, you will enhance your skills and knowledge in: -
Answering Company Telephone/Fielding Calls
The chasing of Suppliers for Quotes/Deliveries
Assisting with Tender Enquiries (sending emails/receiving emails, checking quotes)
Assisting with tenders (sending enquiries)
Placing orders
Printing & Copying drawings
General administrative duties including filing company documents
Occasionally visiting sites to assist directors when tendering or for site meetings
Some amount of PA to Directors
Ordering plant for Hire/ off hiring plant
Ordering materials that site will phone through
Assisting with the presentation of accounts, quotes and bills
Working Hours
40 hours per week. Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm (for example 8:00-4:00 or 8:30-4:30). Hours can be flexible during these times.
This Apprenticeship will include the knowledge, skills and behaviors required to achieve the Business Administration Level 3 standard.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrate a genuine interest in the professional side of the construction industry. Possess strong communication skills verbally and in writing. Demonstrate an excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy of work. Possess an excellent level of Math and analytical skills including the existing ability to work out areas and supply costs/quantities. Possess a good grounding knowledge of IT including Microsoft packages. · 5 x GCSE’s grades A-C / 5-9 including Math & English This is an Advanced Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship, therefore, to meet entry requirements, candidates must possess the stated qualifications and hold proof of these. The recruitment process will include a first and second stage including an assessment of existing maths knowledge and communication skills. · Level 3 Business Administration Standard · Duration 18 months Education: GCSE or equivalent (Required)
