Job Description
Our client an accountancy practice in South Yorkshire are looking to strengthen their existing team by recruiting an Accounts Assistant on a temp to perm basis. This will be full time temporary for 3 months and then become a permanent position for the right person.
Your duties will include:
Completing full sets of self-employed, partnership and limited companies accounts
Completing personal, partnership and limited company tax returns
Completing VAT returns & have knowledge of the different VAT schemes available
Dealing with receipts and investigating deductions
Credit Control
Analyzing cost variances
Assisting in the preparation of management accounts
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in a similar role, such as Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant or Accounts Administrator. Experience using Sage, Xero and VT Transaction+. Knowledge of the different VAT schemes available. Experience of using an accountancy software package. Good Excel skills including Pivot Tables and V Look Ups. Experience of an ERP and payroll system would be beneficial. Additionally, you must possess high levels of accuracy, have a strong team work ethic with good numeracy and organizational skills. Our client also has a preference for candidates who are educated to an AAT standard, further study support is available for the right candidate.
