Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join our busy Finance team has become available! We are recruiting an Accountant, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. This is a Full time position, on a Permanent contract. The candidate will report to the Group Financial Accounting Manager, the role: Accountant - compliance for our various UK and European companies. Responsible for preparation of VAT and other indirect tax reporting. Assists with preparation of financial statements and completion of external audits. Supports with corporation income tax requirements. Provides support with wider finance team activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the submissions of VAT and other indirect tax reporting, including payments to ensure submission are accurate and on time.
  • Responsible for with the preparation and filing of financial statements for various UK and European companies.
  • Provides support for the completion of various external audits, including liaising directly with the auditors to complete all their deliverables and audit requirements.
  • Provides support with wider finance team activities, including month end close review activities and balance sheet reconciliation reviews.
  • Provides support to group tax team for corporation income tax requirements.
  • Works with wider group tax, treasury and legal teams and third party service providers to complete the above activities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualified accountant. 3 years’ experience in a similar background. Good analytical skills and a high attention to detail. Highly organized and an ability to manage time to deliver to deadlines. Inquisitive and strong proven problem solving skills. Good communication skills – both written and verbal. Degree qualified in a relevant subject. Audit experience or background in audit. Would be a good role for a newly qualified person. Experience with preparing VAT returns and other reporting.
