Job Description

The role requires somebody that is prepared to be ‘hands on’ in the short term, with the longer-term goal of heading an accounts team in the future.

You’ll be involved in the day-to-day bookkeeping and ledger control, wages, bank transactions, and supervising a part time assistant, as well as preparing monthly accounts & VAT returns and everything that goes along with that.

You’ll be working directly for the MD, supporting day to day decision making and controlling the finances.

You’ll be taking the existing systems and making improvements to streamline processes for the efficient running of the accounts department.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

You’ll need to be able to work without supervision and set your own timetable to ensure that reports are prepared in a timely manner, so experience of bookkeeping and accounting is essential. A previous user of Excel (to lookup / pivot level), Sage accounts and Sage payroll is preferred. Experience: bookkeeping/accounting: 5 years (Required). Payroll: 5 years (Required). Education: A-Level or equivalent (Preferred).
