Job Description

A well-established and independent mid-tier Accountancy practice are seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their firm in North West London.

The Role
This an ideal opportunity for a motivated individual to join the team and work with a varied portfolio of clients. Ideally they should have two or more years experience at an accountancy practice and want to join a successful independent firm to continue their development. As Semi-Senior the role consists of:
Accounts Preparation - Small limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
Prepare and monitor budgets
Liaise with clients for information gathering purposes
Prepare completion section work programme including paper or electronic disclosure checklists
Bookkeeping - cash books, sales ledger, purchase ledger for a variety of companies and formations
Bank reconciliations
Prepare accounts from incomplete records or client trial balances (Sage, Xero, Quickbooks)
Audit - Internal and external audits - testing of bank, sales, purchases, including stock take attendance and other site verifications
Prepare personal and corporate tax returns
Prepare VAT returns and P11ds
Occasional advisory work business plans, profit and cash flow forecasts
Review work of juniors, resolve technical queries and ensure the file is complete and all review points addressed before passed to the manager

The Candidate
A successful candidate will need a high level of education and prior experience. Candidates will be Part Qualified or Qualified by Experience but will need to have at least two years experience in a chartered accountancy firm. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:
Customer Service approach
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
Flexible and adaptable attitude
Work independently and as part of a team
Ability to regularly recover all chargeable time
Experience of computer packages Excel, Word, Outlook, Sage Line 50, Iris, CCH, VT
Able to commute to North West London easily by car or public transport
