Home based
18-month fixed term contract offered on a part-time basis (equivalent of 3 days per week)

This is an exciting time for Aetna International, as we prepare to launch Aetna Health Insurance Company of Europe (AHICE) from October; ensuring insurance coverage of our EEA members.

To support this change in the way we operate, we are seeking a qualified accountant to join our growing Dublin based team.

Reporting to the Director, Finance in Dublin, you’ll play a pivotal role in overseeing financial workflows arising from AHICE writing business. You will also support with externals audits, internal and regulatory reporting and general accounting.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly US GAAP/FRS reporting.
  • Annual preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Quarterly and annual preparation of Solvency II returns.
  • Coordination and preparation of annual tax filings
  • Balance sheet control.
  • Assist with the preparation of board and audit committee papers on a quarterly basis.
  • Facilitate statutory and regulatory audits.


Who are we looking for?

This role would suit you if you thrive in environments where you can work autonomously and virtually as you’ll be communicating with colleagues globally (through tools like Webex and MS Teams).

Experience within a complex international, matrix environment is key as is experience within the general Insurance sector.
 

  • CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Excellent PC literacy including MS Excel (advanced)
  • Significant experience with Accounting systems and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self starter, used to steep learning curves
  • Regulated Insurance experience


This role is offered on a home-based contract with occasional need to travel to the Dublin office and possibly other Aetna International offices in the future (subject to Covid 19 travel restrictions).
