Job Description

As Management Accountant you will be responsible for:

  • The accuracy and integrity of the accounts, calculate and post relevant journals to ensure the accounts are reflective of underlying financial performance
  • Supporting the development of continuous improvement initiatives with the R2R Finance team
  • Developing internal processes, enabling R2R Finance to accurately reflect the nature of commercial and operating agreements in the accounts
  • Assisting the Senior Accountant in planning and delivering the month-end close process, ensuring the ledgers are all closed to strict deadlines.
  • Providing support in reviewing journal postings and reports produced by R2R Assistant Accountants
  • Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately in line with published finance timetables, including full support analysis and commentary, identifying risks and opportunities and final review and sign off in accordance with B/S reconciliation policy.
  • Production of full P&L, B/S and Capex Reporting for specific legal entities and BU's including variance analysis and supporting commentary
  • Respond to any ad-hoc stakeholder requests to support decision making
  • Ensure all accounts preparation supporting documentation and evidence of controls review is available to support timely completion of statutory audits for legal entities you are accountable for
  • End to end ownership of legal entity P&L and B/S reporting
  • Ensure all accounts preparation supporting documentation and evidence of controls review is documented and saved each period
  • Provide decision making support and guidance to the Assistant Accountants throughout the month end process to help them develop the necessary skills to become independent in their role
  • Make recommendations to support improving, standardising and automating processes within the team internal and external customers
  • Lead the completion of process documentation and work instructions for your designated area
  • Drive continual improvement within your business area.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Be a qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA); ideally 3 years PQE Have experience of supervising PQs Have experience of working in shared service centre and knowledge of R2R Have experience of profit and loss, balance sheet reporting including end to end process, production and review, and management reporting with meaningful commentary and variance analysis Knowledge of best practice processes and expert understanding of key accounting standards Have proven ability to actively engage business stakeholders and to respond to queries in a collaborative manner Be an ambitious individual and team player with a "can do" attitude. Have significant experience of Oracle or similar ERP systems, advanced Excel skills
