Payroll Administrator
Part Time
Job Description

A capable individual, who has the expertise and confidence to work autonomously, you’ll have responsibility for ensuring that all payroll processes and tasks are carried out efficiently and compliantly.

You will provide oversight for the work carried out by our Payroll bureau and will ensure that their performance is measured and reviewed. You will also support the local Finance and HR teams at our hotels, ensuring that they are providing the Payroll bureau with accurate and timely information.

You will be familiar with Payroll and employment tax legislation and must be able to advise the group on compliance issues and any relevant changes to legislation. You will have a key role in ensuring that the group is compliant with relevant legislation at all times.
There are a number of key, monthly payroll tasks that you will be responsible for, including:

  • Production of month end journals (cost/liabilities) and accruals (holiday)
  • Reconciliation of payroll control accounts (including payroll, PAYE, pension, AOE and staff loans)
  • Production of monthly pension schedules and payment of contributions to the relevant providers
  • Processing of third party payments (HMRC, court orders, etc.)
  • Checking of expenses claims and preparation of Fourth upload sheets
  • Setting up monthly BACS payments for payroll

It’s vital for you to be a strong communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills given you’ll be that key central support across Head Office as well as the hotels. You’ll have a keen eye for detail and be a stickler for ironing out payroll issues and challenges, be a skilled user of Excel and ideally be well versed in using Fourth Hospitality.

This is a part time role of 20 hours per week

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Naturally we’re looking for someone who has previous payroll processing experience, but also solid working knowledge and practice of general payroll policies, procedures and legislation (e.g. NMW, IR35, etc.). You will have experience of working closely with a third party supplier and ideally, of overseeing the performance of a Payroll bureau.
