Job Description

The day to day duties of the role involve undertaking the collection of overdue accounts by phone and letter, making arrangements for payment and reviewing such arrangements as appropriate, assisting customers who may be having difficulties and supporting them in a consultative manner with the intention to rectify the situation enabling them to move forward but considering repossession if appropriate. Financial or book-keeping experience is desirable to assist with the administration of the loan book and strong Excel skills are essential.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Identification of upcoming risks across the portfolio and leading the early intervention of potentially distressed accounts • Minimising losses to the bank and maximizing returns from bad debt cases through the collection of overdue accounts. • Allocation of monies, administration of direct debits and preparation of arears reports • Participate in monthly reviews of bad debt cases and circulate minutes in a timely fashion • Build strong relationships with external professionals to appropriately manage cases • To be compliant with all current legislation. • Identifying potentially vulnerable customers and escalating as appropriate • To correspond daily with customers both verbally and in writing • Maintaining up to date records You will have a proven track record within Collections.
