Job Description

The Managing Director role has just been created to provide leadership and strategic direction for the business. It encompasses ownership of the P and L, budgets, sales targets, management of costs and return on equity targets. This is a regulated business and the MD will have responsibility for ensuring the business operates to the highest standards of management control and conforms to agreed regulatory, risk and compliance parameters. This is board level role with statutory and regulatory responsibility. Key responsibilities: Leadership Building and developing a high performing, effective and motivated team. Leading to ensure compliant, safe and profitable lending. P& L management and maintenance within tight budgets. Embedding and embracing a culture of Treating Customers Fairly across the business. Commercial Designing, developing and implementing sales growth strategies. Brand management - building the brand through networking activities and promotional events. Developing and maintaining relationships with solicitors and other intermediaries. Staying at the forefront of sector developments and adapting the business to a change in the landscape for growth. Driving growth and diversification initiatives which are tramsparent, compliant and well-governed. Achieving growth, volume and yield objectives. Risk Management, Compliance and Legal Ensuring the business grows without compromising the integrity and controls expected of an FCA-regulated business. Ensuring documentation and processes have appropriate legal sign-off. Effective risk management in all of its forms. Candidate Profile Proven leadership experience gained within an FCA-regulated lending business - possibly asset finance, consumer finance, invoice finance or similar. Experienced in growing an 'early-stage' and / or 'high-growth' financial services business. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and able to integrate and influence within the legal and professions sector on a regional and national basis. Proactive and results driven with strong numerical capability. Pragmatic, focussed and able to devise and execute strategic growth initiatives. Resilient and able to work with an exceptionally bright investor. My client would consider someone whose next career move is to step up into an MD role.
