Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Taylor Rose are currently working with a highly reputable firm of chartered accountants in East Hertfordshire who, as a result of continued growth, are now seeking to recruit an ambitious Business Services / Accounts Senior to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified (Part qualified, AAT Qualified also considered) from a practice background and will be experienced in the preparation of year end statutory accounts, management accounts, tax compliance, dealing with ad hoc client queries and reviewing the work of junior staff.

You will work closely with an Accounts Manager supporting a number of Directors and Managers whilst working on your own diverse client portfolio preparing accounts for a wide range on non-audited clients.

Responsibilities:

Managing a portfolio of clients
Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Preparation of accounts for a wide range on non-audited clients
Spotting deficiencies in client records / conduct of business and advising them with strategies to improve.
Corporation tax computations
Preparation of management accounts
Review of VAT returns & bookkeeping
Overseeing junior members of staff and monitoring their progression
Liaising with Managers and Partners
Visiting clients at their premises
Dealing with ad hoc client queries

Requirements:

ACA/ ACCA Qualified (ideally)
Part Qualified/ AAT Qualified/ QBE also considered
Good working knowledge of accountancy software including Sage and Xero
Practice experience is essential
