The role reports into the Head of Accounting & Control with one direct report, responsible for the overall success for the business by ensuring the accuracy of investment figures and supporting overall accounting for both plc and group.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the investment accounting process, including updating of the IFRS and Solvency II trial balances.
• Supporting the Implementation of IFRS 9
• Leading the production of detailed investments valuation reporting on a monthly basis
• Line management responsibility for Assistant Accountant
• Support the wider accounting team and finance team with finance projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

For this Financial Accountant position, the successful candidate will need to be a qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with post-qualified experience and an understanding of a broad range of financial investment products. Experience in IFRS and Solvency II reporting within the insurance industry would also be an advantage.
