Job Description

This is an exciting time to join a growing business and would ideally suit an individual who wants and enjoys oversees an account function, but is willing to step in and carry out transactional activities as and when required. It is a pivotal role to ensure the finance function is operationally efficiently and effectively, particularly in developing and improving timely, accurate and quality management information.

Key Responsibilities for the Accounts Manager:

  • Accounts Processing: To oversee the Sales and Purchase Ledgers and ensure the general day to day invoice processing is completed on time;
  • Staff Management: Responsible for the day to day management of finance staff consisting of sales/purchase ledger and payroll staff;
  • Monthly Management Information: To ensure all base accounting is complete, including accruals and prepayments journals and produce the monthly P&L with variance analysis;
  • Financial Control: Complete the balance sheet reconciliations and oversee and complete the bank reconciliations for the multiple accounts;
  • Payroll: Oversee payroll and to prepare the journals for weekly and monthly payrolls and occasionally required to process payroll;
  • External Stakeholders: To complete the statement reconciliations for invoice finance and provide financial information externally as and when required;
  • Budgeting: Assist in the annual budget preparation and monitor against the actual P&L;
  • Operational Excellence: Preparation of other reports as requested by the Directors and supporting the Finance team with added value initiatives to ensure the finance team’s smooth running and ensuring high service levels to both internal and external stakeholders.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ideally be fully qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA or QBE; Demonstrable experience in the day to day running of a finance office for a multi-company environment, Hands-on experience in overseeing and the preparation of management accounts; Able to manage a small finance team, be self-motivated and highly organized with a strong administrative management background; A good knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping; Able to work proactively while unsupervised and use own judgment; Enthusiastic with excellent communication skills both written and verbal; Able to build relationships both internally; Experience of SAGE 200 would be beneficial.
