Highly regarded and widely respected organisation based in Camborne, Cornwall are looking to recruit a permanent Senior Management Accountant.
Duties to include
1.Supervise and coordinate the overall financial reporting and performance of the financial reporting function within the Group organisation, including the finance systems officer and the local office team lead,
2.Deliver effective reporting systems to the Board and departmental staff.
3.Implement financial models to support business planning and business case development for dissemination to senior managers and budget holders.
4.Be responsible for the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial information to support the business decision making processes of the organisation.
5.Ensure that income recording and reporting is timely, accurate and in a format to support service line reporting.
6.Support in the annual budget setting process, including collating forecast learner numbers and calculating staff and non-pay costs for the group.
7.Implement consistent processes for forecasting in the Management Accounts.
8.Implement effective systems of internal controls and assurance processes to ensure probity and transparency in the spending of funds.
9.Promote value for money in the use of resources (e.g. workforce, buildings, and teaching supplies).
10.Maintain assurance processes to ensure that internal controls and checks are working properly.
11.Liaise with External auditors during the year-end audit. Ensuring that staff are deployed effectively, to provide auditors with the required audit evidence in a timely manner.
12.Produce the annual financial statements in a timely manner and in a format presentable to Board and suitable for the annual audit.
13.Produce the monthly management accounts in a timely basis ready for review by the FD.
14.Ensure that all Balance Sheet control accounts are reconciled and that year end cut off, is accurate and consistent with current Accounting Standards.
15.Be required to deal with large volumes of complex and sensitive information and communicate this to senior staff members in an understandable format.
16.Deputise for the FD when required for example at internal team meetings, or with external stakeholders
17.Be required to behave with integrity, objectivity, professional competence and due care and confidentiality.
18.Comply with professional quality standards, particularly professional ethics, continued professional development and international and national external reporting requirements.
19.Be responsible for the mentoring and training of staff within the Financial Reporting team.
20.Support the FD in the completion of any external financial reports, as and when required.
Any special conditions attaching to the post: full current driving licence and willing to visit other company sites.
