An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to work for this successful manufacturing business. Reporting to the Managing Director, your duties will be as follows:
Leading the accounting function including the day-to-day management of the accounts team
Preparation of monthly management accounts & reports
Responsible for the year-end financial statements and forecast cash flow positions
Managing audit processes and all statutory reporting, including Companies House filings
Interpreting the company's financial results to presenting to the management team and recommending improvements
Controlling income, cash flow and expenditure
Preparation of the company's annual budget
Reporting on variances from the established budget and discussing the implications of those variances
Identifying, investigating and analysing potential operational improvements
Making proposals for operational changes for policy, procedures, processes, etc, based on findings
Compiling key business metrics and project performance reviews and reporting to management
Managing the capital budgeting process, based on constraint analysis and discounted cash flow analysis
Handling contract renewals for commercial insurance, credit insurance, private medical, death in service, utilities, motor leasing and fuel
Managing the credit control process and ensuring the team is adhering to the credit policy
Supporting the team with routine accounting functions
Reviewing customer terms and conditions for areas of operational risk and advising the sales team
Supporting the ongoing ERP system development plan
Ad-hoc analysis of financial data as required
Attendance and minute taking at Board meetings
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will be a key member of the management team and ensure financial control processes are fulfilled. A qualified Accountant, you will have strong experience in interpretation of financial results and recommending improvements to help mitigate risk. You will have worked in a similar role previously, ideally in a manufacturing business and be competent at operating at both board and management level. Strong Excel skills, including V-Lookups and pivot tables are required. Experience with an ERP system and/or Sage 200 will be advantageous.
