Job Description

We are seeking a Procurement Adviser to join us on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. This is an exciting opportunity to manage the application of Purchase to Pay (P2P) policy and procurement systems, in order to ensure effective usage in line with business requirements; driving reduced acquisition costs and increasing efficiency. You will support to the business for low value / low risk tenders, provide advice and challenge when appropriate to ensure efficient, effective procurement.

As a Procurement Adviser you will:

  • Train, advise, challenge and support procurement system users to optimize compliant and efficient use of systems, in line with policy to control acquisition costs and risk and build effective internal customer relationships.
  • Advise and offer training to the business on the P2P systems as a super user.
  • Collaborate with buyers, suppliers and internal business users while analyzing data to maximize cost control opportunities and facilitate efficient procurement solutions.
  • Working with IT Support and System Providers in order to identify and evaluate issues in order to maximize existing functionality, maintain controls and deliver agreed efficiencies.
  • Develop, promote and provide guidance to the business on policies, procedures, processes and practice.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Internal and External parties to ensure the effective delivery of objectives.
  • Lead, plan, manage and facilitate tender process and negotiations for low value/low risk supply of goods and services in accordance with policies and procedures to deliver the best possible commercial terms, while mitigating commercial risk and contractual exposure.
  • Deliver short term / one-off projects and activities as required by and to the standards and outcomes agreed with Line Manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
5 GCSE (including math and English) or equivalent. Use of Microsoft Office applications (with experience using MS Excel). Experience of working in a Customer Service environment. Administration or financial processing. Knowledge of procurement systems and processes and/or CIPS (desirable).
