Job Description

A leading manufacturing business with offices in Kent, are looking to recruit an experienced, commercially focussed Finance Business Partner / Senior Management Accountant to cover a period of maternity leave for 12 months, starting in September. Working cross functionally within the business, the Finance Business Partner will report to the Head of Finance and ensure that business critical analysis and reporting is delivered to support key decision making.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting the month end process including production of management accounts, forecasting and KPIs
• Work closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner and Site Head of Finance to improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting by delivering a partnering approach to accounting and communication within the business.
• Support the Senior Financial Business partner in ensuring consistent department reporting packs are generated in a timely manner. Attending meetings regularly with cost centre managers to gain understanding of their department, whilst providing financial oversight.
• Actively participates in all standard month end routines, whilst taking accountability for specific monthly close out activities.
• Work to undertake the analysis and evaluation of causes of variances for specific departments.
• Review the outcome of monthly accounting routines for Inventory, Sales and Capital.
• In partnership with operations, manage and report on inventory, including assessment of levels of provisions for slow moving stock, write offs/ups, participating in periodic stock checks.
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register and support appraisal of new Capital projects.
• Prepare and submit key inventory consignment returns to the customer.
• Support the annual budget and quarterly forecast process.
• Evaluate and understand all site expense and revenue moves in conjunction with Site management.
• Support the year end and audit process.

Candidate Profile:

• Able to start a role in September and commit to 12 months
• Commercial finance experience
• Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience
• Manufacturing or a product-based background would be highly advantageous
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across a business
• Experience using an ERP system such as SAP or Oracle
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and look ups
