The Financial Accountant willjoin the head office finance team, and work closely with the Head of Finance, in an extremely varied and interesting role. It's a great blend of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, group reporting, and loads more ad hoc projects alongside the core responsibilities.
The role is to backfill someone who has already been promoted after leaving practice within the last couple of years, so there is huge scope to progress - the ideal first step into industry.
Key responsibilities include:
Prepare month end reporting in accordance with group reporting deadlines
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all general ledgers for head office entities
Responsible for processing all head office overheads and reviewing against budget and forecast
Prepare monthly overhead, balance sheet and cashflow variance analysis for senior finance
Prepare head office quarterly VAT returns
Prepare and review the budget and half year reforecast with head office cost centre owners
Draft presentation packs and present on budgets to senior finance leaders
Supporting the External Financial Reporting Manager with timely and accurate planning and completion of all UK statutory accounts to agreed group reporting timetable
Primary point of contact for external audit
Maintain strong technical knowledge on all relevant accounting standards
Support senior finance team on ad hoc projects and system upgrade/implementation
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
ACA qualified (Big 4 preferred, others considered) Strong communication skills at all levels Excellent technical knowledge of IFRS, FRS101 and FRS102 Prior knowledge of a group reporting environment and understanding of consolidation process Strong Excel skills, with proven analytical mindset
