Hours: 8am – 4pm (Or Similar)

We are looking for a bright, highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our fast paced and growing accounts team as an Accounts Assistant. Your role as an assistant will beto support the finance team in every aspect. Taking on daily duties as required with every opportunity to grow within this highly motivated business.

This is an exciting opportunity to further their career and develop themselves professionally to become a key asset to the accounts team and to M.V. Kelly. You will have a full 3-year professional development plan to support your training to enable you to reach your full potential.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Process invoices as required to assist the Purchase and Subcontract Ledger team
  • Waiting time sheets and rebates as required
  • Dealing with invoice queries - liaising with suppliers, surveyors, bricklayers and subcontractors
  • Chasing authorization of invoices from surveyors and directors
  • Processing Bricklayer invoices
  • Weekly Bricklayer payments
  • Updating labor only spreadsheets
  • Statement reconciliations
  • Understanding & Application of the Construction Industry Scheme
  • Provide cover/support for sales ledger as and when required
  • Ensuring accuracy and self-checking of work.
  • Relevant photocopying / filing of invoices when required. Ensuring files are maintained in line with current procedure.
  • Covering overflow of reception calls.
  • Support colleagues ensuring the department is working as a team to have all accounts up to date and accurate, assisting with colleagues work when required.
  • Provide cover/support to Accounts team as and when required with petty cash, cash book reconciliation, assets and month-end processes
  • Working to weekly/monthly deadlines set within procedures.
  • Other duties as reasonably required from time to time.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Previous office experience. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience working in a fast-paced environment. Good understanding of Microsoft Excel and computer literate. Meticulous and methodical. Ability to priorities. Effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrate an extremely high level of confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills. Focused, motivated and ambitious. Team player. Ability to learn. A motivated hard worker. Experience of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS). Experience within a finance role. Education: A-Level or equivalent (Preferred).
