Accounts Assistant
Full-time, Permanent - Temporarily remote
Job Description
We are seeking candidates with a good understanding of double entry bookkeeping and reconciliations who possess an AAT qualification or are studying towards it.
Key experience required for this post is:
Experience of using SAGE 200 and its interaction with other operating systems
Dealing with a significant volume of transactions
Ensuring that all income and expenditure is accounted for accurately and on a timely basis
Working with other team members to ensure that the month end process timetable deadlines are met
Working with budget holders and other staff to ensure correct coding and authorization levels are maintained
Sales and purchase ledgers
Day to day cash book processing
To work with the Finance Team Leader on additional projects as required
Financial Responsibility
Ensuring that the accounting for all income and expenditure, together with associated balance sheet accounts, is in line with applicable accounting standards
Credit control activities
This role will initially be home based with a staggered transition to fully flexible working post lockdown.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate will have proven experience of both external and internal customer service, possess good IT literacy and able to cope with strict deadlines. Any experience of working within a Charity with a retail trading subsidiaries would be highly advantageous.
