Your responsibilities will include:
Payroll Processing:
• RTI Payroll processing for clients on a weekly, monthly and fortnightly basis
• Sick pay (SSP), Holiday pay, Maternity Pay (SMP), Paternity Pay (SPP), etc
• Advising clients of PAYE/NIC liabilities in a timely manner • Auto Enrolment and management of pension schemes
VAT:
• Preparing accurate VAT computations for clients in a variety of industries
• Researching technical matters related to cross border VAT issues
• Submitting VAT returns to HMRC
• Advising clients of VAT liabilities and deadlines for payment
• Completing VAT returns for clients on different VAT schemes
CIS (Construction Industry Scheme):
• Liaising with clients for subcontractor payment details
• Preparing and submitting monthly CIS returns to HMRC
• Requesting CIS deduction refunds from HMRC
Accounts Preparation:
• Entering transactions in VT software from source documents.
• Checking transactions in client accounting software i.e Xero, Quickbooks, Freshbooks etc.
• Bank reconciliation
• Analysis of income & expenses using excel spreadsheets for accounts preparation
• Sales ledger reconciliation • Purchase ledger reconciliation
• Journal entries for payroll, depreciation, accruals, prepayments, etc. • Finalising accounts for review by the partner
• Updating knowledge on accounting standards
Corporation Tax:
• Preparing accurate corporation tax computations for companies
• Completing tax returns and submitting the same to HMRC
• Advising clients on how to pay their tax liabilities, including interest and penalties (where necessary)
Personal Tax and Capital Gains Tax:
• Managing portfolio of clients and updating WIP lists on an ongoing basis
• Liaising with clients to request relevant and complete information to prepare tax returns
• Completing workings for clients including, income and expenditure accounts, property letting accounts and capital gains tax (CGT) computations
• Preparing self assessment tax returns for partner review
• Advising clients of accurate self assessment and CGT liabilities on a timely basis
• Research on tax reliefs available (where appropriate)
Other Duties:
• Research on technical developments in your area of responsibility
• Assisting on Ad Hoc assignments
