Due to continued growth, a new position has been created for a Systems Administrator with a solid understanding of Linux Systems Administration & Security.
As a Systems Administrator, the team that you will be joining are rewriting the rulebook on OS design to create a custom-built system. You will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing the software, hardware and networks, as well as:
- Ensuring that the technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently both internally and externally, managing network servers and technology tools throughout.
- Managing the administration and improvement of authorisation systems.
- Monitoring performance and maintaining systems according to requirements, inclusive of cloud.
- Developing and executing Security Risk Management Plans across the business.
- Ensuring security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
- Achieving ISO/IEC 27000 Company Certification.
- Setting up and maintaining Cloud IAM.
- Building an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies.
- Training employees on new technologies.
As a Systems Administrator, you should have most, if not all of the following experience:
- Previous experience as a Systems / Network Administrator or similar role (working with Linux systems is essential, any MS experience would also be beneficial)
- Experience using Python, Bash or similar language.
- Experience using various operating systems and platforms.
- Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of system security (e.g. data backup).
- Experience building systems and security within a start-up environment is an advantage, as well as a BSc/BA in Information Technology or a related discipline (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)).
