Responsible for the preparation of the management accounts and assistance with monthly financial reporting. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the management accountant leads the monthly management accounts reporting process and provides assistance with other ad-hoc reporting areas.
Responsibilities
Timely and accurate preparation of monthly management accounts
Preparation of the monthly board pack for submission to the Head of Finance for review
Meet finance timetable deadlines for all assigned tasks and provide support to other areas where necessary
Preparation of key information used to prepare the monthly flash report which is submitted to management
Responsibility for oversight of all journal postings to ensure the nominal ledger is closed down within specified deadlines
Review work undertaken by the management account, purchase ledger clerk and accounts assistant to ensure this is accurate and timely, in particular review of key control account reconciliations and fixed assets
Evaluate and sign off key invoice costs prior to payment being made
Review and reconciliation of network purchase invoices against internal call records and commercial agreements, including posting of billing re-analysis journals
Monthly reconciliation of all intercompany group accounts including raising of intra-group invoices and recharges
Preparing and reviewing detailed P&L and Balance Sheet supporting schedules and reports
Provide KPI analysis to assist with monthly management commentary
Preparation of quarterly VAT returns for all UK companies to ensure online filing and payment within deadlines
