In May 2019, we launched Shout 85258, the UK’s first free 24/7 crisis text support service. Shout 85258 has had nearly 300,000 conversations with people who are anxious, stressed, depressed, overwhelmed or unable to cope and who need immediate support.

We’re currently looking for a Finance Administrator to join us and support us to maintain healthy accounts.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to the finance operations of our entrepreneurial charity, take on an interesting workload and develop and progress as the organisation grows.

As a charity, maintaining our financial health is a priority, as it enables us to carry out our ground-breaking work. You’ll have the chance to contribute to our success by supporting our daily accounting activities, as well as completing analysis that will support key decision-making.

The Role

As a Finance Administrator, you’ll assist with a range of accounting activities, as well as using your skills to support a range of projects.

Reporting to our Head of Finance, you will support the day-to-day delivery of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable, financial reporting and governance and budget monitoring. You’ll also help the Income Generation Team with analysis and reporting activities.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Processing high volumes of supplier invoices
  • Managing staff expense claims
  • Assisting with the management, maintenance and communication of financial policies and procedures
  • Helping to generate forecasts for budgets and special projects
  • Supporting the annual audit process

About You

To join us as a Finance Administrator, you’ll need:

  • At least one year’s experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar
  • Experience of preparing management reports and assisting in the preparation of end of year accounts
  • Previous experience of maintaining and monitoring financial controls within an entrepreneurial business or charity
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Google G-Suite and QuickBooks
  • To be AAT qualified OR working towards an ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualification OR have a degree level qualification in an accounting or finance related discipline
