An excellent part time opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant in a growing business based in Redditch. The business is offering flexibility of c24 hours over 3/4 days to suit for the Accounts Assistant to support the Financial Controller in its next phase.
The Accounts Assistant’s duties include:
Processing sales and purchase invoices, including foreign currency invoices;
Performing weekly and monthly bank reconciliations, including foreign currency bank reconciliations;
Daily posting of cash receipts and payments;
Credit control;
Preparing supplier payment runs and reconciling supplier statements;
Maintaining the fixed asset register;
Preparing and posting monthly accruals & prepayments;
Balance sheet reconciliations;
Preparing and posting journals to ERP system;
Monthly reconciliation of company credit card statement;
Comply with the company’s relevant policies and procedures;
Do all that is reasonably practicable to maintain a safe and healthy work environment, having regard to appropriate risk assessments and ensuring compliance with company and statutory requirements;
Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required by the company.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ideal candidate will have worked in a family run SME environment in a hands-on finance role. Completing AAT Level 4 or equivalent; Experience in assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts; Hands on, hardworking individual who has a positive attitude and wants progression; Strong double entry book keeping knowledge; Excellent understanding of Microsoft Excel; The ability to work within strict deadlines and manage workload efficiently; Must be able to work on own initiative and work well within a team.
