Job Description

Working week

Monday - Friday 9am till 5pm Total hours per week: 37.50

Our client are looking to hire a Payroll Assistant for their branch based in Derby.

The role will be based at their head office based in Derby City Centre.

Our client are a well-established temporary and permanent recruitment organization who specialize in the following sectors; Industrial, Commercial, Engineering, Manufacturing, IT and Digital Marketing.

The core role duties will include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Processing Hours of Work for temporary clients
  • Raising Invoices for clients
  • Liaising with payroll company regarding hours
  • Handling payroll queries
  • Liaising with clients regarding missing hours etc
  • Processing Holidays
  • Checking Hours sent to time sheets received
  • Following up unpaid invoices with clients
  • Validating Pay for temporary workers with a senior member of staff for weekly pay
  • Ad hoc Financial duties when required

You will report to either the MD of the company, or Branch Manager regarding payroll and will have monthly 1-1s with again either, the Branch Manager or Managing Director.

The role is permanent with a 3 month probationary period in place

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Highly effective communicator both internally with colleagues and externally with contractors. Close attention to detail to ensure accuracy, particularly when issuing payroll. Logical mindset with a passion for problem solving. Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion. Willing to support other areas of finance where required. Hard-working and Diligent. At least 5 GCSE's at grade C/4, equivalent or above, including Math’s and English. Education: GCSE or equivalent (Preferred)
