Job Description

These posts will provide the opportunity to participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients with a Drug and/or Alcohol problems. The Integrated Substance Misuse Service provides care and treatment for individuals who are dependent on Opiates and/or Alcohol.

You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1, RNA, RN3 or RNMH or Sub-part 2: RN2 or RN4 of the NMC Register

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team in the assessment and treatment of patients referred to the Integrated Substance Misuse Service. The post holder will hold a case load of patients and be responsible for the establishment and ongoing review of a care plan with each individual. The utilisation of motivational strategies will be a key part of the treatment delivered by the post holder. The focus of the treatment provided will be the recovery of the individual. The post holder will have a role in liaising with external social work teams, primary care, residential units and other partner agencies as part of the post
